Origin of ANZBYC
The Australia New Zealand Buddhist Youth Conference (ANZBYC) was first held in Sydney in 1997, with the guidance of Venerable Man Chien. From then onwards, various Young Adult Division (YAD) branches across the Oceania region took turns in organizing this conference. The conference provides an opportunity for youths to learn the roots of Buddhism and various ways of applying the teachings in a practical manner in different aspects of their life. Not only does the conference allow youths to further their understanding of Buddhism, but the conference also serves as a means for youths to develop vital leadership skills. ANZBYC also brings together like-minded youths together from different parts of Oceania, forming life-changing affinities.
